About the internship
For the festival we curate a unique film program with an extended special program. We are looking for an intern who wants to gain experience in curating cinema and organizing broader activities during the festival.

What are you going to do?

Dive into the different film and extended programs to get to know the Roffa Mon Amour
Assist the film programmer: update and maintain the film database and overview. Do film research and support the program operations
Watch films and write reviews why it matches Roffa Mon Amour
Write texts for selected films for the marketing and communication team
Assist the special programmer: update and maintain overview of different programs
Create and update lists of potential speakers and partners
Support the special programs like the New Jury Program and Directors in Dialogue Program, dinners and interactive sessions
Write and create content for the special programs
Host and production support during the Festival and + Events (materials, guestlists, invitations, artist handling)

Who are we looking for?

You are enthusiastic and you want to learn
You write and speak fluent English (Dutch is a plus) and you enjoy creative writing
You have an eye for details and understand sensitivity regarding different relationships and stakeholders
You easily make contact, both online and offline, to bring people together
If you have an idea, you are happy to share it and you are not afraid of implementing it yourself
You know what’s going on in Rotterdam in the creative industry and nightlife culture
You are available 1 day per week in the month of April, and 2 days per week in May, June, July. Wednesday is the regular team day at the office. Other days in consultation.
You are full time available during the festival (in August). You are available for events, dates to be confirmed.

What will you take with you after your internship?

You gain work experience in a young cultural organization with a network within the film industry and in Rotterdam
You will have the opportunity to participate in the curating process of a festival, where you will be given ample space to contribute ideas
You will work in a small, fun team at a great workplace
You will be actively involved in the entire process and therefore learn many different things
You will receive financial compensation

The festival is organized by a small, passionate team, in which everyone has the opportunity to develop themselves and discover their personal talents.
