About Roffa Mon Amour
Roffa Mon Amour is an annual open-air film festival in summer in August in Rotterdam. Throughout the year we organize various Film Events at different locations in Rotterdam.
With our film activities we want to touch our young audience and stimulate their film taste. We bring people and cinema together. At magical locations where no films are being offered, Roffa Mon Amour connects people to discover cinema (like rooftops, floating buildings, or art gardens).
The festival exists since 2013 and has been a must visit in Rotterdam. The festival presents a unique selection of films which are diverse in country of origin, genre, language, culture and theme. Besides the twelve days festival, Roffa Mon Amour organizes special film events throughout the year at special locations, in collaboration with partners, festivals and other cities where we offer educational programs and merchandise.
About the internship
Do you, like us, never stop talking about film? Do you get enthusiastic about creative, playful marketing opportunities and like to create your content? Are you a good editor who enjoys approaching the right target groups through Roffa Mon Amours social channels?
Then this internship is right for you!
What are you going to do?
- Dive into the different film programs to get to know the Roffa Mon Amour DNA;
- Assist the team in updating and filling in the social media planning, implementing it, and monitoring it;
- Support the team in creating content and providing input for creative marketing campaigns;
- Manage the photo archive and select the right film stills as an image editor;
- Support in briefing photographers and in designing print;
- Check the general email account and answer to visitors and partners;
- Update the website and ticket shop with the newest events and films;
- Assist during activities such as events, jury screenings and the festival.
Who are we looking for?
- You attend a relevant education in the field of Communication, Marketing, Digital Culture, Art, Film, or Media and you have an affinity with film. If you have another (educational) background and if you are eager to learn we do encourage you to apply;
- You write and speak fluent English (Dutch is a plus);
- You know which image fits the text and you are visually oriented;
- You easily make contact, both online and offline, to bring people together;
- If you have an idea, you are happy to share it and you are not afraid of implementing it yourself;
- You love social media (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Youtube) and are up to date about the newest trends;
- You are available: 1 day per week in March, and April. 2 days per weeks in May, June, and July. And 1 day per week in September. Wednesday is the regular team day at the office. Other days in consultation.
- You are full-time available during the festival (in August). You are available for events, dates to be confirmed.
What will you take with you after your internship?
- You gain work experience in a young cultural organization with a network within the film industry and in Rotterdam;
- You will have the opportunity to participate in the communication and content of a film festival, where you will be given ample space to contribute ideas;
- You will work in a small, fun team at a great workplace;
- You will be actively involved in the entire process and therefore learn many different things;
- You will receive financial compensation for the working days during the festival.

Film and enthusiasm for this medium are the main values at Roffa Mon Amour. We screen films from all over the world, by and for everyone.
The festival is organized by a small, passionate team, in which everyone has the opportunity to develop themselves and discover where personal talents lie. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their background, religion, or sexual orientation.
