Natural Born Killers (1994)
122 min, United States
Deeply in love and also great looking serial killers Mickey (Woody Harrelson) and Mallory Knox (Juliette Lewis) go on a killing spree of startling viciousness and soon find themselves transformed into cult celebrities by the tabloid media.
Natural Born Killers is a romantic yet brutal criticism on the glorification of violence in media and the American celebrity culture.
The script was written by Quentin Tarantino but the eventual film – directed by Oliver Stone – departed significantly from Tarantino’s original screenplay. So much so that Tarantino removed his name from the screenplay credits and said: “I hated that fucking movie. If you like my stuff, don’t watch that movie.” We think he was just jealous. What do you think?
