Spring Breakers

Four teens (Disney Stars Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine) rob a local restaurant to get cash. This will get them to go to Spring Break, the hedonistic American party phenomenon where students drink their sunburned asses off. But the party doesn’t last for long when the girls – in fluor bikinis – are getting caught by police. Luckily maniac local drug dealer Alien (James Franco in a frightening role that is close to performance art) is there to bail them out, but he might want something back in return…

It’s a beach party in the style of Enter The Void, it’s a 90 min music vid with a score by Skrillex and Drive composer Cliff Martinez, it’s a neon-colored bad trip and it guarantees for future classic status (we will never forget the scene where Alien and the girls sing Britney Spears’ ‘Everytime’ by the piano at the pool, wearing ski masks and shotguns). Spring Breakers is the nihilistic, transcendental cinematic experience we are craving this summer.
